Maria is a therapist in private practice at Nurtured Nest Therapy & Consulting in Fitchburg, WI. She is passionate about supporting women and their families during pregnancy, birth, in the postpartum period, and throughout the early parenting years.
 
The road to becoming a parent can be both beautiful and yet so challenging. Many mothers find themselves wondering why they are experiencing difficult feelings of sadness, anger, anxiety, shame, or bothersome worry in what they anticipated would be one of the best times of their life. Maria is here and ready to walk beside you as you sift through the grief and loss of "what should have been or what has happened" to work towards feeling safe, competent, and to find joy in motherhood at this moment in time.

Maria has a compassionate, strengths-based approach, to help families move from a place of distress, to find symptom relief, and work towards joy and health. Maria utilizes a blend of traditional therapy approaches along with experiential therapy modalities such as Brainspotting, Mindfulness exercises, and Guided Visualizations to tailor the therapeutic experience to each individual's needs. She holds a Maternal Mental Health Professional Training Certificate with Postpartum Support International and is a graduate of the UW-Madison Infant, Early Childhood, & Family Mental Health CAPSTONE Certificate Program. She has previously lead Mom & Me dyadic play therapy groups as well as facilitated parenting/relationship therapy support groups.
