African American Breastfeeding Alliance of Dane County, Inc.

AABA is the first non-profit organization whose sole purpose is to educate African American women and their families about the maternal, infant, and societal benefits of breastfeeding.

Bereaved Parents of Madison

Bereaved Parents of Madison, Inc. provides support and resources to grieving families during and after pregnancy loss, stillbirth, infant death, and subsequent pregnancies by offering personal and group support, as well as programs and events for families. They also provide education and awareness to the community through outreach programs and relationships with area hospitals. They strive to nurture healing and renew hope in these families throughout the grieving process.

 

Domestic Abuse Intervention Services

Domestic Abuse Intervention Services (or DAIS) believes that a world free from violence is possible. It works to make Dane County, WI, a safer, more just, more equitable place for people who have experienced domestic violence, their children, and the people who love them.

Its mission is to empower those affected by domestic violence and advocate for social change through support, education and outreach. Its vision is a nonviolent community that actively promotes safety, peace, justice and hope.

To make this happen, DAIS offers a wide array of crisis intervention and community education/prevention programs, including a 24-hour Help Line, programming for children from violent homes, legal advocacy, support groups, emergency safety planning, and the only domestic violence shelter for all of Dane County.

Madison Area Mothers of Multiples

The Madison Area Mothers of Multiples, Inc. (MAMOMs) is a 501(3)(c) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting local mothers and families raising multiple birth children. MAMOMs exists to offer friendship and support to mothers of multiples and their families in the Madison area through monthly meetings and newsletters, seasonal family outings, our Facebook support group, and MAMOMs Resale events. We also give back to our community by donating unsold resale items, by providing opportunities through our Moms in Need Program, and by participating in the March of Dimes March for Babies fundraiser.

Families expecting or caring for multiple birth children are welcome to join MAMOMs. Member meetings are held the 3rd Thursday evening of each month at locations throughout Dane County.  These fun and informative events are for parents of multiples to socialize and support each other.

Miscarriage/Early Loss Support Group

The free miscarriage/early loss support group is held the first Thursday of the month from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The group is virtual and is offered to those that live in and near Madison, WI. The purpose of the group is to find support from others, discuss your feelings and coping strategies. To register please email julie@kullcounselingmadison.com by noon on the preceding Wednesday.


Project Babies

Project Babies provides information and activities that enable families to become proactive in their children’s health and well being. Project Babies outreach includes B.A.B.Y. Olympics, Community Baby Showers, and Play-Learn-Grow.

South Central Wisconsin Doula Network

Doulas provide informational, emotional, and physical support to expectant families, laboring moms and support people, and families with newborns. SCW Doula Network is a professional organization of doulas in the Madison & surrounding communities.

The Madison Area Pregnancy & Postpartum Collective is a group of independent providers who offer a variety of professional services to families in the greater-Madison, WI area, with a common goal of increasing visibility of perinatal service options, as well as sharing knowledge across postpartum care providers in order to better serve families in our community. Our members provide support for families welcoming an infant or young child into their home, during pregnancy, and through the extended postpartum period.
